WENATCHEE, Wash. – Several fires are burning in Eastern Washington, some of which are even visible from as far as Seattle and Bellevue.

Three fires are burning near Wenatchee named The Wenatchee River Complex, consisting of the Nahahum, North Tripp and Devil's Gulch fires.

Nahahum Fire

State fire assistance has been mobilized to support local firefighters working to contain the Nahahum Canyon Fire near Cashmere, in Chelan County.

The fire started at 3 p.m. on Thursday July 29. The cause of the fire is unknown. The fire is buring toward what is left of the Swakane Fire.

The fire has grown to an estimated 500 acres. There are approximately 50 residences threatened by the fire with advisory evacuations put into place. The Red Cross has opened a shelter at the Cashmere High for people evacuating from the Nahahum Canyon Fire.  One building has already burned.

Resident Briana McConnell says there are several helicopters, spotter planes and a bomber dropping fire retardant.

McConnell says the fire flared up very fast and sheriff's deputies are already giving evacuation notices. There is no immediate word on injuries.

The North Tripp Fire, south of Cashmere, is burning over about 70 acres.

The Devil's Gulch Fire is burning over about 70 acres northwest of the Mission Ridge ski area.

Both North Tripp and Devil's Gulch fires were started by lightning associated with the storm that blew through Wednesday night.

Rainbow Bridge Fire

This is not part of the Wenatchee River Complex.

State fire assistance has been mobilized to support local firefighters working to contain the Rainbow Bridge Fire near Stehekin, in Chelan County.

The fire started at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday July 29. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The fire has grown to an estimated 1,200 acres.

There are approximately 100 residences threatened by the fire with advisory evacuations put into place.

Red flag warning

A low pressure system off the Oregon coast will slowly move northeast into Washington on Saturday, developing abundant lightning over all of Central and Eastern Washington.

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a red flag warning which is in effect from midnight tonight to 11 p.m. Saturday.
