NEAR SANDPOINT, Idaho-- The slopes at Schweitzer look a little different this time of year.

Green trees and grass, along with a few dirt patches, are the landscape instead of white snow.  But that doesn't mean winter isn't on the minds of the folks on top of the mountain.

"Once we get past Labor Day, everybody's mind turns to winter, and just being able to see these changes and see it happen through the village, it puts winter in your brain,” Marketing Coordinator Sean Briggs said.

Briggs said the resort is getting a makeover in some areas, like the ski lift for the bunny hill.  It can now speed up and slow down.

For all you more advanced skiers and boarders, you're not going to be left out.  The high speed Great Escape Quad lift is getting a new high tech electrical system.
