OKANOGAN, WA. -- The arraignment for the teen police suspect of planning school shootings in Eastern Washington has been pushed back one week.

Charles Mustoe, 17, has been charged as an adult with Premeditated Attempted 1st Degree Murder.

Defense attorneys requested to delay the hearing in order to look into possible mental health issues. Prosecutors agreed, and the judge pushed the hearing back one week.

Mustoe was arrested over the weekend after investigators say multiple online chats between him and a 14-year-old Canadian girl alluded to shootings at schools across Eastern Washington, including Chelan High School, Brewster High School (where Mustoe is a student), and Bridgeport High School. Investigators say Mustoe was planning the shootings for April 20, 2011.

Brewster Police arrested Mustoe and seized all weapons he had access to, including three shotguns, two pistols, and five rifles.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police determined the 14-year-old girl was no longer a threat.

Mustoe is in custody in the Okanogan County Juvenile Detention Center. If convicted, he faces life in prison and/or a $50,000 fine.
