BREWSTER, WA. -- A teen is jailed in the Okanogan County Juvenile Detention Center for allegedly helping develop a school shooting plot.
Monday, Brewster Police confirmed they received word on Saturday, February 27, from a concerned parent in Canada. The parent told them of the plot, which officers say was planned for an unknown school in 2011.
Police investigated the claim, and found the plot involved the teen from Brewster, identified as Charles Thomas Mustoe, 17, and a juvenile from Canada.
Brewster Police gathered enough probable cause to arrest Mustoe, and plan to charge him as an adult with Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Assault.
Mustoe appeared in court Monday, and bond was set at $500,000. His arraignment is set for Thursday.
Officers say all weapons the teen had access to have been accounted for and are in police custody.
The Canadian Royal Mounted Police is investigating the Canadian juvenile's alleged involvement in the plot.
Brewster is located about 80 miles south of the Canadian border.
