COLVILLE, Wash. -- Investigators still have not determined what sparked a fire that gutted Saundra’s Furniture store in downtown Colville.
Flames tore through the building on the night of February 16, destroying everything inside.
A week and a half later, crime scene tape still surrounds the rubble. Security will stay put until the investigation is complete.
Owner Saundra Wilma estimates more than $1 million in damage.
The business now temporarily operates out of the Chamber of Commerce building. The staff is still paid full-time, and workers continue to deliver furniture.
Wilma is looking for a more permanent spot to conduct business over the next year, until she can rebuild.
