COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Some shelter dogs got their moment in the spotlight Sunday when a film crew from PBS’ “Shelter Me” visited the Kootenai Human Society.

The animal shelter welcomed the crew Sunday afternoon.   An episode will feature dogs from Los Angeles who were flown to the panhandle shelter by the non-profit group Wings of Rescue.

Officials said about 40 dogs had already been adopted since Saturday.

The episode featuring the animals was expected to air sometime in September.
