NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Saints fans hugged, kissed and spilled onto the streets of New Orleans. The city that knows how to party erupted after its once-laughingstock NFL franchise defeated the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl, 31-17. French Quarter crowds, beefed up by tourists, poured onto Bourbon Street to celebrate. It looked more like Fat Tuesday than a Sunday night in New Orleans. As a brass band played "When the Saints Go Marching In" inside Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse, revelers jumped up and down, stood on chairs and tables and waved black and gold umbrellas when the Saints won. Darlene Milliet hugged her sister, Cindy Lasiter, with both of them crying in the French Quarter, and shouted: "This is so awesome. I can't believe it!" Lasiter responded: "It's just a dream come true." Some 44 years after the NFL awarded New Orleans a franchise, the Saints are Super Bowl champions.
