SPOKANE, Wash.--Spokane police officers found a stolen vehicle using an automatic license plate reader on Sunday night.
Spokane police said they got a call from a victim who said she had gone to a meeting and left her Honda Accord unlocked on Friday night. She said the car was gone when she came back from the meeting near N. Newport Highway.
Spokane police patrol officers were using their automatic license plate reader system when they got a hit on a stolen vehicle. Officers stopped the car near N. Jefferson St. and W. Rockwell Ave. The driver, 20-year-old Dann T. Babcox Jr. was in possession of an unlicensed, loaded automatic pistol.
Officers arrested Babcox Jr. and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on charges of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Making/Having Motor Vehicle Theft Tools and Carrying a Firearm without a license.
