Spokane -- Technical difficulties prevented people from using SNAP’s website to make energy assiantance appointments on Monday.
The agency opened up its first round of appointments at 8:30 a.m.
Until the page is working again, users must call (509) 242-2376 to make an appointment. Officials ask that people call from landlines because cell towers cannot handle the high number of calls.
SNAP hopes to have the page back up and running by 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Workers expect the appointments to be filled within 5 to 7 days once the system is working properly again.
SNAP provides heating assistance for low-income people in the Spokane area.
