SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.-- A newborn kitten made its way into SCRAPS recently after being found by employees at a local manufacturer. Her mother and litter-mates were gone and she was alone and helpless. After that, six litters of kittens were found and brought into SCRAPS all in a forty-eight hour period.
These kittens are just part of a growing cat population seen at SCRAPS this month. “This is normally a busy time of year for cats, but our ‘cat room’ at SCRAPS is overflowing with a recent flood of adoptable cats,” according to Nancy Hill, SCRAPS’ Executive Director.
To try and find forever homes for the dozens of cats and kittens available, SCRAPS is offering fee-waived cat adoptions beginning Thursday, August 30th through Saturday, September 1st. All cat and kitten adoptions will be free when a $15.00 license is purchased.
SCRAPS is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 5:30 p.m., but will be closed on Labor Day of next week. We are located at 2521 N. Flora Road in the Spokane Valley.
