SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.--A summer storm that moved through the region Tuesday evening blew the roof off of a wedding venue in south Spokane County. It was the second time in three years that barn sustained serious storm damage.
The storm hit as the owner of the venue was preparing to host a wedding scheduled for the upcoming weekend. Owner Patti Lashaw said the barn is more than 100 years old and home to more than 20 weddings each year.
"It's been in my husband's family for 150 years," Lashaw said.
Winds picked up an awning that was attached to the roof and left part of it resting on top of the barn. The storm left Lashaw picking up the pieces again, though she said she would have no problem getting the barn ready for the upcoming wedding.
"This time it's just really hard," she said. "Just putting it back together, but it will be beautiful for my bride."
