SPOKANE -- Area motorists had trouble driving in Thursday morning's thick fog that froze to some roadways.

Emergency crews and WSP troopers responded more than a  dozen of slide-offs and rollover wrecks again this morning.

One wreck happened around 6:00 a.m. on Highway 195 just north of Spangle. Troopers say one car hit a patch of ice, lost control and landed on its top. That driver struggled to get our of his car, then while he was surveying the damage, a truck with a trailer lost control in the same spot.

The truck crashed into the first car. We're told both drivers are okay, but were going too fast for the conditions.

Emergency crews urge drivers to slow down on the roadways.

Um yeah.... to JHOBBS, yes it was your fault. You probably had to 'scrape' your windows and just assumed the roads were dry. Seriously. If it is cold out you still go 50? Interesting. Keep the "Its not my fault dream alive". Hello all the dumb drivers are out early this year. Come on WSP: hit them with some serious heavy fines! Like I said earlier: Unless you have a medical condition or are incapacitated, ther eis no excuse for any wrecks during the winter. All of the ones I've heard today so far are 'driving too fast for conditions". A phrase we hear alot here in the NW every single time it is cold or snows. I'm just glad that the truly 'innocent' people who are hit are by the dumb acts of others are OK.

Yep, too worried about who they can cut off next, as usual.

While it is true that there are, in fact, lots of idiots on the road who disregard safety, this person does not happen to be one of them. He was just a responsible person on the way to work who unfortunately hit black ice. Black ice is dangerous primarily because you can't tell it is there before you're on it, and all too often, the conditions that created it (i.e. freezing fog) have already lifted by the time you get there. I had a similar accident while pregnant and am an extra vigilant driver anyway. There was no indication to me (or any of the other drivers on the road, all of whom were going 50mph) that there was a problem prior to the accident; simply an unexpected freeze zone on an otherwise clear road. Even after my wreck, drivers continued to whizz around the curve, unawares, though I could barely stand up on the roadway after getting out of my car because it was so slick. Please don't be so quick to judge; these unprovoked snark attacks are unfair, unkind, and unhelpful.

lot of idiots on the road......most of them think it wasn't their fault, it was the icy roads fault....troopers give them tickets for inattentive driving, driving too fast for conditions, and a general driving while stupid ticket.
