Robber holds up Sunset Grocery in Browne’s Addition

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police said an armed man robbed the Sunset Grocery in the Browne’s Addition neighborhood Thursday night.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the store with a handgun around 7 p.m. and ran out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.   The clerk told KREM 2 News the robbery happened quickly.

A K9 unit tracked the man to 2nd Ave. and Cannon Street.  The owner of a home there gave police permission to search the residence.  Police also used loud speakers draw a suspect out but investigators did not find the person.

Police said the suspect covered his face with a bandana during the robbery.

There were no reports of injuries.
