COEUR D'ALENE-- North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene is changing the way staff and students will drive to class.
Crews are building rotaries, installing a new intersection, and a traffic light at Northwest Boulevard. The road construction is expanding the area's education corridor.
Several neighbors near NIC are grateful for the construction because it will reroute the students out of their neighborhoods.
Neighbors say some students are zooming past homes on their way to campus and are plugging up the streets with their parked cars.
NIC, Lewis and Clark College, and the City of Coeur d'Alene are all on board.
The roads are expected to be open by mid-October.
