SPOKANE VALLEY -- Spokane County deputies responded to an emergency in the 17500 block of E. Sprague, near Greenacres Middle School on Monday around 4 p.m.
Deputies said a suicidal man with a .44 caliber handgun locked himself in a truck.
All intersections in the area were shut down.
SWAT crews were called into the area and were able end the situation peacefully. No one was injured.
Football, softball, and cross country activities at Greenacres Middle School were ended early, and students involved in those sports were told to go inside the school to wait for a parent to pick them up.
