SPOKANE-- A seven-year-old girl fighting cancer and facing a stack of medical bills got a little bit of help from her community.
Pete’s Pizza held a fundraiser Wednesday for Sierra Higbee.
Her parents say their insurance company refuses to cover the cost of the surgery to remove her tumor.
It’s expected to cost $100,000.
The owner of Pete’s Pizza said sales and cash donations from the fundraiser total more than $3,000.
Anyone interested in donating to Sierra can visit any STCU location and ask for “The Benefit for Sierra Higbee.”
