SPOKANE, Wash. -- Crews quickly knocked down a fire in a Spokane home.
It broke out just after 7 a.m. near Illinois and Cincinnati.
The homeowners smelled smoke and called for help.
The fire department says flames sparked in the second story of the home. They cut a hole in the roof for ventilation.
Smoke damaged the both floors of the house. The family likely won't be able to return today.
No one was injured.
