SPOKANE, Wash. -- The public was invited to attend a formal dedication at 10 a.m. Tuesday for the brand new Westview Elementary School.
The 380 kids who attend Westview have already been enjoying the new space since the first day of school. It comes with a state of the art library and computer lab, window seats, beautiful stone work, and is energy efficient. Both students and teachers tell me they love all the new technologies now available to them.
"There's large spacious rooms, window space, natural light, floor coverings for the kids," said Principal Cathy Comfort.
Construction took over one year. KREM 2 News was told their old school building is currently vacant.
Two projects are also in the works for Spokane Public Schools. The first big phase at Ferris High School will be done this fall. The new Jefferson Elementary will wrap up in fall of 2013.
