SPOKANE – It’s your turn to weigh in on the designs for the Spokane Convention Center addition.

Last year, voters approved the expansion and now those same voters get a chance to see the three final designs for what the addition could look like. The three design companies that are competing for the big have been working on their plans since January. They will be on-hand at the open house Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  to unveil and explain their designs.

“We’ve had three teams working very competitively to create the best possible project for Spokane,” Spokane Public Facilities District CEO Kevin Twohig said. “We’re very interested in what people think.”

The expansion will add 90,000 square feet of space and is estimated to cost $50 million.

Anyone who attends Thursday’s open house will get an opportunity to complete a survey. The public facilities district will review those surveys before it makes a decision on the winning design on April 23.

Construction crews could break ground on the expansion later this summer.
