SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane police arrested a man this week, who they say is just the latest suspect involved in a growing crime trend in the area.

Marlon J. Jones, 36, was arrested when officers executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of West 10th Thursday.

Jones allegedly sold Oxycodone on the black market.

Detectives say they’ve noticed a large increase in the selling of prescription drugs on the black market this year. Police call this an expensive addiction. The police department advises prescription drug abuse can also lead to heroin addiction when users search for a cheaper drug. Both addictions fuel property crimes, according to police.

The Spokane Police Department encourages calls to the Drug Hotline at 509-363-8210 to report illicit drug sales activity.
