POST FALLS, Idaho-- Authorities arrested a Post Falls bank robbery suspect on Wednesday.
Police were searching for the suspect just after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday after they said the Bank of America on Seltice was robbed.
Witnesses said the suspect showed a firearm and demanded money from a teller. Police said one witness watched the robbery and then followed the suspect to a car approximately one block away. The witness was able to provide police a partial license plate number.
Police said the suspect had fled the scene in a blue sedan. They considered the suspect armed and dangerous.
Police said they received several tips on the identity of the suspect after posting surveillance footage of the robbery on the Post Falls Police Facebook page.
The suspect was identified as 56-year-old Raymond Alterton of Post Falls.
After receiving numerous tips, police said they received information that Alterton was headed to the Coeur d’Alene area in a taxi. Police arrested Alterton. He was being held at the Kootenai County Jail on robbery charges.
