POST FALLS, Idaho -- Some people choose to call out sick after Super Bowl, but a Post Falls man was honest about missing work this week.
Kyle Messier tried to buy a $20 lottery ticket from the Frontier Grocery store, but the shop didn’t have any. He bought two $10 tickets instead.
“I got in the car with my best friend and started playing the tickets when I realized I’d won,” described Messier. “My friend and I started hugging right there in the car! I couldn’t believe it.”
Messier bought, scratched and won $100,000 on the Ultimate Bankroll game.
Messier quit his fast food job, and now he and his fiancé plan to attend college with their winnings.
“I guess you could say I called in rich,” Messier said.
Frontier Grocery, in the 2700 block of Seltice Way, will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery for selling the ticket.
