SPOKANE, Wash. -- KREM 2 continues to sort through thousands of documents related to suspected erotic spas in Spokane.
One of the owners, Tony Day, awaits his trial. Meanwhile, more about his business practices is coming to light.
Police say Day is part of a prostitution ring that went on for years. He owned Oriental Spa near Francis and Nevada.
Court documents are filled with information on Day and his mother Chin, who served as a manager there.
Police spent months gathering intelligence on the Days. According to official files, special agents attached a GPS to Toni’s vehicle while it was parked at his spa. They attached it March 27 and monitored his car trips.
Four days later, they found the GPS unit in a trash bag on Francis.
Some special informants, who were also employees, reported Tony kept a close watch on the place.
Documents say, “He didn’t talk much and spent most of the time sitting in his truck in the parking lot with his dog, listening to a scanner and watching movies.”
Others said he smoked marijuana and would sometimes have sex with the employees.
One informant said she tried to avoid Day, but admits he and his mother never assaulted her.
Tony Day faces charges related to the prostitution ring, along with others including money laundering and criminal profiteering.
