SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police officers and sheriff’s deputies launched a search Tuesday morning for a suspect who fled a stolen truck on foot in the Hillyard neighborhood.

Authorities said the truck was stolen from a business in Spokane County last week.  Someone from that company spotted the truck driving down Market St. Tuesday and called police.  Deputies caught up with the vehicle but the driver led them on a pursuit, according to investigators.  The suspect later jumped out of the truck.

At least five sheriff’s deputies and a K-9 unit were attempting to locate the suspect with help from Spokane & Spokane Valley Police officers.  An initial K9 track was unsuccessful.
