An anonymous Crime stoppers tip helped Spokane Police track down the female responsible for the assault of a 3 year old boy on Wednesday morning.

Officer Wayne Downing and Officer Shaney Redmon followed up on the tip which led them to several addresses around Spokane.  A final lead on an address brought them to an apartment at 1400 N. Lincoln, shortly after 4:00pm.  The female suspect, identified as 28 year old Keyana L. Key, and her three young children were being hidden by Key's sister, identified as 39 year old Aletha A. Robinson.

Keyana Key was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 2nd Degree Assault of a Child-DV.

Aletha Robinson was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 2nd Degree Rendering Criminal Assistance.

The 3 year old victim appeared lethargic and was transported to a local hospital for tests to determine injuries.  Key's two other children were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.

The Spokane Police Department would like to thank the citizens who called in tips and helped us locate the suspect.  If you believe a child has been assaulted or is being abused, please call Crime Check or 9-1-1 if it is an emergency.

It is good to see that both the alleged child assaulter and the one who allegedly harbored her have been arrested. Spokane's children are worth protecting from harm and those who abuse the children in our community should be vigorously prosecuted.

Good to see that someone did the right thing and called this woman in. I pray that this little person is going to be alright. Good job...and that both mother and sister are in jail.

Thank you SPD for getting this monster!! Kudos to whoever called in the tips. Best news I've heard in quite some time. I hope the boy, and the babies aren't too badly harmed and will have a chance at a normal life in the care of someone else who will cherish and love them and keep them safe!

I cannot believe this woman did this to a 3 year old and in front of alot of people. I am glad that they caught her and that she will not be able to do this to him again. I pray that this little guy is going to be ok. The sister should have known better than to try and hide her sister. I bet she won't do it again. Good work SPD!!! And kudos to the people who turned this woman in.

It's really sad this whole situation. It is equally sad to see that all these people who I'm sure hold themselves in the highest regaurds talk so bad about someone. I in no way condone what happen to the babies, however it's amazing to see this many people think they have the right to judge someone. I know her personally and it obviously never accured to anyone that this young woman needs help and prayers not judgement and persecution.
