SPOKANE, Wash. --  Spokane Police have caught a wanted robbery suspect in the area of Arthur and Newark on Spokane's lower South Hill Monday night. Police said he is in jail charged with First Degree Robbery and First Degree Theft.

Officials said bank robbery suspect Scott Ruziecki, 41, is in custody. They said Ruziecki came out of a home on the 600 block of Arthur and surrendered peacefully.

Ruziecki is a suspect in the robberies at the Banner Bank branch in Safeway in Hillyard on August 9, the U.S. Bank branch on Argonne and Trent on August 13, and the Banner Bank branch in Safeway near Gonzaga University.

Authorities said that Ruziecki was apparently armed for each of the recent robberies he is alleged to be involved in. Police said he also said he would shoot any law enforcement officer if they confronted him.

SWAT, hostage negotiators and Air One were in the area for hours trying to get the suspect to come out of the home.
