SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man’s drug binge led to a bizarre series of events Friday morning.
Police say the suspect had a bad reaction to drugs, possibly meth, around 9 near an elementary school at Mission and Madelia.
He reportedly started jumping into strangers’ vehicles because he thought people were chasing him.
Police say the suspect first jumped into an Avista truck, but he got out after the driver told him to.
He then allegedly hopped into a car with children inside, elbowing one of them. Police say this was unintentional.
After exiting that car, he assaulted a crossing guard, according to the police department. Police say this was on purpose.
They took him into custody for assaulting the child, assaulting the crossing guard and car prowling.
No one was seriously injured.
