SPOKANE-- An alleged car thief’s getaway ended unsuccessfully Saturday.
A woman called police Saturday afternoon after she noticed a vehicle in her front lawn near 17th and Perry.
The suspected thief stole a Ford Explorer from Spokane Valley and ran out of gas when he reached Perry. He pulled over the car and had no choice but to stop in the middle of road or the woman’s yard.
The man was attempting to refuel when police arrived. The suspect reportedly fled and started stripping off his clothes. Police caught him in shorts and a T-shirt not far from the intersection.
He will be charged with Auto Theft.
