SPOKANE, Wash. -- More than 100 South Hill residents heard the city's presentation on upcoming construction on High Drive.
The public meeting was held Tuesday night.
The City of Spokane planned to add sidewalks, parking, bike lanes, and drainage ditches to High Drive.
“We simply need a new street surface...and with that, it gives us an opportunity to update everything in the street,” said City Administrator Theresa Sanders.
City leaders Tuesday asked for public input on the best way to do the job. Some residents said, however, they were upset to lose part of their land to sidewalks.
Construction was expected to take place between the spring and fall of 2014.
