Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. -- One person was sent to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the Downtown area Thursday morning.

Authorities said the collision happened near 5th Ave. and Maple St.  The pedestrian who was struck was reportedly conscious when being loaded onto an ambulance.

Emergency crews cleared the scene southbound on Maple near Interstate 90 around 7 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the collision.
