COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho--A disagreement over parking led to one man’s arrest. Dean G. Morra, 55, shared his side of the story with KREM 2 News.

Morra was arrested on November 26 after admitted to vandalizing vehicles parked in front of his home along E. Front Avenue. Authorities said Morra admitted to the vandalism when he was caught on surveillance video. Police said the video showed Morra damaging an unmarked City of Coeur d’Alene vehicle.

The investigation began November 20 when police received a report about a damaged vehicle. The victim said she parked her vehicle on the street in front of 802 E. Front Ave. at 11:00 a.m. on November 15. She told police that she returned to her vehicle at 6:30 p.m. and discovered the windows were filmy. Authorities said the windows were covered in WD-40. The woman noticed later that the passenger side of the car had been keyed.

Authorities said the woman believed Morra had vandalized her vehicle. She claimed Morra had come into her Downtown workplace and said he did not want anyone parking in front of his home. The woman said Morra had made previous threats about damaging those vehicles parked near his house.

The victim was able to provide officers with the names of at least ten other people who have had run-ins with Morra

On November 26, Coeur d’Alene Police Detectives parked an unmarked City vehicle in front of Mora’s house. Detectives monitored the vehicle with video surveillance. Detectives returned to the vehicle later in the day and noticed a filmy substance on the windows. They also discovered fresh scratches on the driver’s side and the hood. A local body shop estimated the damage to total $1,349.

Detectives watched the video surveillance and identified Morra as the suspect.

Morra initially denied doing any damage to the vehicles. Detectives made him aware of the video surveillance, and he admitted to the vandalism. Morra claimed to be angry at anyone who parks in front of his house. He stated he sprayed WD-40 on the female victim’s vehicle several times. Morra was arrested for felony malicious injury to property.

Morra said he does not like people parking in front of his house.     He said he does not have a driveway and can only park on the street. He admitted to vandalizing the undercover cop car but denied vandalizing several other cars parked in front of his house.
