SPOKANE, Wash.—The Spokane Humane Society raised money for unwanted animals Saturday at its annual Parade of Paws event.
Despite the rain, around 1,000 people and 800 pets walked two to four miles along the route.
“It’s nice to see there’s still a lot of people coming, even though it was raining really hard this morning,” said participant, Alicia Ayers. “It’s nice to see all the people come out and raising money for the Humane Society.”
Participants collected pledges to walk and the money raised went toward food and shelter for animals in need. People who raised $100 or more received a t-shirt.
