POST FALLS, Idaho—The Pose Falls Police Department has a new weapon to combat prescription drug abuse.

A green bin at the Post Falls Police Department is designed for people to drop off old prescription drugs.

Officials hope the program will help keep prescriptions from falling into the hands of children, or people abusing pills.

The bin is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anyone can anonymously drop off their old pills. Needles are not accepted.

Pills that are dropped off in the bin are eventually taken to an incinerator in Spokane.
