SPOKANE VALLEY -- Flames destroyed a Spokane Valley detached garage Tuesday afternoon at the 12000 block of East Alki. The garage is a complete loss.
Fire investigators say the owners were working in the garage. They left to run an errand. While they were gone, neighbors noticed flames and called 911.
The owners returned shortly after the fire was reported and started pushing cars out of the garage. Police say they are no strangers to the garage. They say they have been to the area before to locate stolen items.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
