SPOKANE—A gas station’s low prices last week have sparked a gas war along Highway 2 near Day Mount Spokane Rd.

Last week a gallon of gas cost $2.99 at the new Maverick station.  The price has forced other stations nearby to lower theirs as well, some to less than $2.90 a gallon.

Employees were unable to comment on whether the station is saving or losing money from these low prices.

The last time a gallon of gas was this low was in March of 2010 when it was $2.79 a gallon.
