SPIRIT LAKE, IDAHO – Spirit Lake Police were looking for a white pick-up with ‘I hate people’ written on the side.

Authorities said the suspect in the truck was a white male and was being chased by police. The chase ended around 2:30 p.m. Authorities said the suspect is still on the loose.

Idaho State Police said the suspect stole the truck, which had a fuel tank on the back, in Washington and later hit a patrol car in Bonner County. They said the suspect left the scene.

People in the area said the suspect rammed into a gate on a logging road that accesses Spokane and Bonner Counties.

Witnesses said police got into a stand off with police but the suspect was able to drive away.

Air One from Spokane was assisting in the search.

Spirit Lake said the suspect is not a threat to the community.
