SPOKANE, Wash. -- A fire in North Spokane tangled traffic early Friday.
Fire crews rushed to the URM building on N. Freya, north of Francis, around 8 a.m. after a welding project started a fire.
All of the employees in the building quickly evacuated and there were no reports of any injuries. Fire crews said they were able to keep the flames away from a hazardous ammonia cooling system inside the warehouse.
Due to the location of the building, traffic was impacted while crews put out the fire. Trucks idled on nearby roads waiting to turn into the property’s parking lot.
