SPOKANE, Wash. -- Deputies said a possibly armed suspect robbed a McDonald’s restaurant in North Spokane Tuesday night.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the McDonald’s on Monroe St. near Francis Ave. around 8 p.m.  Investigators said the suspect approached the drive-thru window, reached in and grabbed the money drawer from the register and ran away.  It appeared there was a black pistol in his hand, officials said.

Deputies quickly set up a perimeter with the assistance of several Spokane Police officers but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

The suspect was described as a white male with a medium build.  He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and had a black cloth covering his face.

There were no reports of injuries.

Investigators believe there are similarities to a robbery at a Wendy’s restaurant on Newport Highway a day later.
