STANFIELD, Ore – A North Idaho man was killed when a truck he was in slid on icy roads and crashed on Interstate 84 near Stanfield early Sunday, police said.
At around 6:45 a.m., a 26-year-old man was driving eastbound on the interstate near milepost 192 when he lost control on an icy section of the road. He then hit the center median and rolled two times, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
A passenger in the truck, 69-year-old Freeman Glenn Thomason, was pronounced dead at the scene, Hastings said. Thomason was from Post Falls.
The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
