INLAND NORTHWEST—Heating issues sent kids home early Thursday in two Inland Northwest school districts.
The boiler broke at the elementary school in the Oakesdale School District on Thursday. School leaders made the announcement around 12:10 p.m. The elementary school was without heat when the alert was issued.
Parents are welcome to pick up their children early. However, school leaders said students have bundled up and space heaters have been placed in each classroom. School is in session and buses will run at the normal time this afternoon.
Around 12:15 p.m, the Potlatch School District sent out a similar alert. Potlatch schools will close at 1:30 p.m. and all day Friday because of a broken heater.
