SPOKANE---The Mobius Science Center in downtown Spokane will open in a week.  The $12,000,000 dollar facility has been in the making for about a decade.

The creators have had some issues in the past. They've hit fundraising snags and have had trouble getting a location, but now it's nearly time to open and they say it's here to stay.

It's full of exhibits creators hope will send kids imaginations in flight.   The 65 fascinating exhibits aim to teach people of all ages about aerospace, medicine and robotics.

Mobius' CEO Chris Majer estimates the center will see 200,000 visitors a year.

Majer says it took about 10 years to get the money together and figure out how Spokane can sustain a place like this.

They started with Mobius Kids at River Park Square.  Then they tested sites around town to make sure there's a demand for a science facility.

Mobius has a 30 year lease on Main and Lincoln.  Now all that's left are the final touches for opening day and many long years ahead.

The grand opening ceremony will be next Friday.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for kids.
