New Walmart location
SPOKANE VALLEY -- Walmart announced Friday plans to build a new store in Spokane Valley at 5500 East Sprague Avenue. The store is expected to open in the spring of 2012.
When complete, the store will offer a full range of general merchandise, grocery and a garden center. Inside the store, customers will find a pharmacy, deli, and fresh meat and produce departments. It will incorporate advance sustainable environmental features including high-efficiency LED lighting, skylights and automatic light-dimming systems.
The store will employ approximately 300 associates. Construction on the store is expected to begin in spring 2011.
There are Walmart stores in North Spokane, one in Airway Heights and one already in Spokane Valley.
