COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- A northern Idaho teacher who prosecutors say had inappropriate contact with a 5-year-old girl has pleaded not guilty to lewd conduct with a child under the age of 16.
 
Other media outlets report that 32-year-old Daniel Abram Taylor made the plea Wednesday in 1st District Court.

Court records say the girl reported three instances of sexual abuse that began in January 2011 and ended in August 2012. The girl's mother went to police in December.
 
Taylor was a science teacher at Venture High School in Coeur d'Alene but has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the court case.

Court records say Taylor acknowledged touching the child for sexual gratification.  Authorities Daniel Taylor could spend the rest of his life in prison if he is convicted.
