SPOKANE--Local musicians were making noise in downtown Spokane Saturday night, but it wasn’t with their instruments.

They went on strike Friday after failing to reach a contract agreement with the Spokane Symphony Society.  The musicians’ contract expired in August.

Super Pops was scheduled to run Saturday, but was canceled because of the strike.
