SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.—A motorcyclist died Saturday after an early morning collision north of Spokane.
Washington State Patrol said motorcyclist Robert L. White, 62, was traveling north on Highway 291 at about 7:50 a.m. when he was struck, head-on, by a car traveling south in the northbound lane.
White was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he later died. Authorities said the 17-year-old driver who hit him was not injured.
The roadway was blocked-off until about 12:30 p.m., while authorities cleared the scene. Washington State Patrol said the cause of the wreck and possible charges are under investigation.
