NEAR COLFAX, Wash. -- Medics pronounced a motorcyclist dead shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday following a wreck outside of Colfax.
Authorities responded to the crash on Highway 272, three miles east of town.
The Washington State Patrol closed down the highway briefly while Northwest Medstar landed at the scene. Shortly after, experts pronounced 81-year-old Bernard Biddle dead.
WSP said the Richland, Washington man was headed eastbound on the highway when he crossed the center line on a right curve. The motorcycle left the road and landed about 20 feet off the highway.
The cause is under investigation.
