MOSCOW, ID -- Moscow Police are investigating a fatal shooting. The victim died at a local hospital. He was 42-years-old.
It happened at a residence on N Polk Extension on Sunday afternoon. Detectives said
Charles Patrick McMichael, the victim, knew his suspected shooter, 28-year-old Nathaniel Nisbet. Nisbet was arrest for first degree murder and has been booked into the Latah County Jail.
Police said McMichael and his wife were trying to help the suspect's wife change the locks at her home when they discovered the suspect hiding inside. Authorities said the two men struggled and several shots were fired.
Neighbors say there have been disturbances at the home before.
"Nothing seemed unusual and then all of a sudden we heard 'bam, bam, bam.' It didn't sound like a gunshot. It sounded like a banging on the door," said neighbor, Anna Eiselein.
MPD leaders said there hasn't been a murder in Moscow in two years.
Moscow Police said the shooter and victim were not related but their wives worked together. Officials said the victim was shot multiple times.
