SPOKANE, Wash—A teacher staged a fake drunk-driving crash Thursday at North Central High School to give students a first-hand look at the dangers of drunk driving.

The teacher, Chuck Filipini, worked with first responders and student groups to set-up the mock, alcohol related, crash. Students attended a staged funeral for the make-believe victims after the crash.

The set-up was part of a tradition the teacher started two decades prior, with hopes it would urge students to make good decisions.

Filipini wanted to remind students  that automobile crashes ranked the number one cause of death among teens.
