SPOKANE, Wash. -- A fire broke out early Monday morning in a mobile home near Centennial Mills.
Authorities said a mobile home on N. Stone Street and E. Springfield Avenue had flames shooting out of the roof when they arrived on scene.
Officials said the fire was reported by a newspaper carrier and was confirmed by Spokane Police officers who were patrolling the area.
Crews checked inside the home multiple times to make sure no one was inside.
A man living next door said he was woken up by firefighters pounding on his door.
The fire was put out within an hour and crews remained on scene for several more hours to extinguish hot spots.
The mobile home was used as an office for a lawn care business.
Firefighters said an engine officer twisted her knee while fighting the fire and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
No word yet on what may have caused the fire.
