SPOKANE, Wash.--  A judge asked for a continuance of a mental evaluation for a Spokane teenager accused of stabbing a woman to death.

Avondre Graham, 17, is accused of murdering Sharlotte McGill in May of 2012 while she was on a morning walk.

On Friday, a judge said Graham’s mental stability will need to be evaluated for another 45 days at Eastern State Hospital.

Both the prosecutor in the case and Graham’s defense lawyers said his appearance in court was not needed for the specific hearing.
